Portrait of a Woman
The composition depicts a portrait of a young woman, with dark curly hair and deep set eyes. She has a faraway look in her eyes, as if she's having her mind in another place and time. Her figure dominates almost the entire composition, leaving just a small space on either side of her for a complementary background made out of green and brownish brushstrokes. The brushstrokes of her decoratively patterned white summer blouse end suddenly, without covering the lower part of the canvas, thus giving a slightly unfinished look to the work.
