Landscape from Baia Mare
The landscape of Baia Mare, built on four registers, contains the specific elements of Jándi Dávid's works. In the foreground of the image, on the left corner, we see a male character, probably the cattle herder, lying down, leaning on his elbow. Slightly above, there is a courtyard with farm animals and brightly colored houses, and in the background a large landscape with the Hill of the Cross and above that an intensely blue sky. The lying male figure in the foreground enhances the depth of the composition. The color palette is intense, characterized by brightly lit colors, the brushstrokes are prominent, with variations between smooth and very tumultuous areas, accomplished with the impasto technique.
