Parisian interior
The painting, executed using brushstrokes with dense paste, probably depicts the artist's studio from Paris which he shared with Amadeo Modigliani. It is possible that under the current layer of paint there is another, earlier painting of the artist. The work can be linked to the artistic ambience of the Parisian art world of the early twentieth century. In the artist's autobiographical novel, he describes the period spent in Paris, between 1909-1912, and the still lifes and interiors painted during this period.
